I’ve been to Paros, Santorini, Folegandros and Sifnos. All Really beautiful and worth visiting!! wandatierney. • 1 yr. ago. My favorite Greek Island is Mykonos. I love the laid-back vibe of the island, the beautiful beaches and the warm people. The locals are friendly and always happy to help out.
6 years ago. Save. My boyfriend and I are traveling to Greece towards the end of May for 7 nights. We're trying to decide between Paros or santorini. From what I've read Paros is relaxing, has beautiful beaches and is less touristy. Santorini of course is beautiful with gorgeous views but more crowded. I'm leaning towards Paros but don't want

Hmm, interesting. Seems like it might be wiser to spend my last 3 days in Santorini (the weekend). So LAND in Santorini, get the fairy to Mykonos and stay there 2 days via an Airbnb. Then get a fairy to Naxos stay there for two days in an Airbnb. Lastly, go to Santorini Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Airbnb).

Read below for more details about the overall decision-making, excursion, and experience on Santorini. Research told us that there were 3 ways to the top of Fira - donkey, walking, or cable car. Research also told us that depending on how many ships were in port that the wait for cable car may be several hours, in blistering heat.

What they are basically saying is that Hertz, as the owner of the vehicle, does have liability insurance (as required by various state laws) in case you injure someone or cause property damage while driving the vehicle. However, if a claim is filed and they pay out, they will then come after you to pay them back (aka “indemnity” them).

These two villages are the most popular, romantic, picturesque, and best areas to stay in Santorini (not to mention, expensive). The majority of luxury cave suites can be found in Imerovigli or Oia. Both are built along the rim of the caldera that was left after the volcanic eruption and have incredible views.
Taking the ferry is an experience worth having in your memory. You just have to decide if the 8 hours it takes to reach Santorini is worth the time spent just to see 3 ports for about 15 minutes each. The best part of the trip is entering Santorini's caldera for the first time on the open deck of a conventional ferry, but if you're on a
On the backside is a gorgeous view of all of Santorini, there is a small little island maybe 150-200 feet across the water that you can swim over to and do some cliff jumping. Or just chill in the water on the backside there.

I'm getting FOMO feelings for skipping an island and my travel agent highly recommended Santorini. We like seeing nature and eating great food. I'm seeing the highlights of Santorini are: nightlife, swimming, and boating. We're over clubbing and we don't really want to do swimming or boating.
Day 6 - May 30 - Athens to Santorini. We fly Ryanair - morning flight into Santorini/ midnight flight out of Santorini back to Athens. Ryanair is pretty shitty, even for a budget airline - but as long as you know what you're getting into - the price can be worth it. Don't push your luck with Ryanair.

But would it be reasonable to take public transportation to any of the beaches, Akrotiri or some other village that’s worth visiting—before going on our sunset tours (which would start at 3 or 4pm). I’ve heard there’s good food in Perivolos and Kamari, too. We didn’t want to commit to renting a car because most of the big stuff we

We didn't see the sun actually hit the water, but got a beautiful sky and peace and quiet. You can walk down the street a couple blocks and have no one around. They all go there because someone said it has the best view of the sunset. To be honest its all an amazing view in Oia.

Honestly if I have to do the same route again I would prefer to fly, because the flight from Athens to Santorini was cheaper than the boat and it barely took 40 minutes. A long while back I took an overnight ferry to the Dodecanese. It left late at night and I slept through most of it.
Traveling to Greece early October with a group, splitting our days up in Mykonos and Santorini. For Mykonos, we are debating whether we should stay in the downtown area. Is it worth it during this time of year? We’re not sure if things will start shutting down while we’re there given it’s the shoulder season.
you could also jump over to albania in a 30 minute ferry and see sarande. views from lekuresi castle are super (especially at sunset) and car rental is super easy to explore some beaches. car rental is literally in the same building as the ferry port. if you head south towards ksamil, mirror beach and the butrint archaelogical site are cool. 4.
I hate renting a car, and even I did it in Santorini. Buses suck (though it's less bad if you're staying in Fira) and taxis are outrageously expensive. Walking sucks too well, it doesn't suck because you can take in the scenery, but everything is far away. Cars and four-wheelers are like €30 or €35 per 24 hours.
I know many things will be closed, but do you think anything about it would be worth it? I've been before, but it was in April. 0 comments. Best.
Santorini is most famous for its beautiful sunsets and long volcanic beaches. This means that the Aegean island is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. If you know anything about Greek mythology, then no doubt you'll have heard of the lost island of Atlantis.
Nov 6, 2023 · Cons of planning a day trip to Santorini – It will cost you more than a day trip inside Crete; Over one day, you will have the bus then the ferry and same for the return, so you will only have something like 6 hours to really explore the island. Santorini is big and traffic is intense, so you can see only a few spots; It is a very crowded place.
Rental car or taxis in Santorini. I am staying in Santorini for 2 days next week. I am curious whether it would be more efficient/cheaper to get taxis or to rent a car. My hotel is quite rural and out of the way so buses are out of the question!
